Performance Based Assessment/Performance Based Learning
Strategies: Performance-based assessment (PBA) is a classroom assessment tool teachers use to determine deeper levels of student understanding that cannot be obtained through other assessment methods such as multiple choice and short- and even extended-response items. While other assessment methods certainly have their place in a teacher’s toolbox, PBA provides both teachers and students with a measure of the extent to which the student has deep understanding of important and challenging learning goals set in realistic contexts. This site is intended to provide teachers and instructional leaders with resources that support the effective use of PBA instructionally. |
