Guided/Cued Role Play

The use of a guided/cued role play is a great technique to use when students are first learning the skill.  It is especially useful to use with students that can’t read a scripted role play. Two students are at the front of the room while the teacher is close enough to help cue the students as to what they need to say.  As students become more proficient with the skill, they will require less cueing or guidance. As soon as the role play is done, processing can take place with the entire group. The video below describes how to use use a guided role play using the role play teaching progression.
