Effective Implementation of Special Service Providers for Leaders
Standards and Instructional Support

The Leadership Academy is the third stage of the Colorado School Mental Health Leadership Academy, following the Shared Core and the profession-specific pathways. Its focus shifts from "How do I do my role well?" to "How do I lead, influence, and strengthen school mental health systems?", and it defines leadership as influence, systems improvement, and capacity-building rather than a job title. Across ten proposed modules, participants would explore systems thinking, comprehensive school mental health within MTSS, data-driven change, influence without authority, relationship-based and adaptive leadership, consultation and coaching, and sustainable workforce well-being. The planned format blends asynchronous content with live discussions, case consultation, and peer problem-solving, and it replaces separate module tasks with one authentic Problem of Practice that participants carry through the Academy and present as an applied leadership project.
