About 1% of the student population receives educational services from a facility school.  Facility schools serve a student population with behavior health needs or emotional health needs.  Although the overall percentage of students served is very low, the need for additional therapeutic and education supports is high.

Facility schools are private agencies and are licensed through the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) or are a hospital setting and licensed through Colorado Health Care Policy and Financing (Co-HCPF).  Each agency applies to become an Approved Facility School through the Colorado Department of Education (CDE).  There are educational requirements to become a facility school.  More information can be found at:  http://www.cde.state.co.us/facilityschools/laws.
