TRY IT OUT: Build your Performance Assessment Plan
Design Template
There is not one correct way to design a performance assessment, and there are many different templates available. That said, the following template is recommended as it aligns well with Colorado’s design elements for high-quality performance assessment. This design template (the link will prompt you to make a copy) walks you through the process of your initial performance assessment design. After going through the validation protocol presented in Module 5, you will have the chance to revise your initial draft based on feedback from others.
If you are not a classroom teacher and are not sure how to approach this task, it is recommended that you co-design with someone who works directly with students. If you are a classroom teacher, it can be powerful to team up with another educator while designing your assessment.
