This course is a collection of community of practice sessions led by Dr. Julie Causton and Dr. Kristie Pretti-Frontczak, who are leading experts in all things inclusion. Together, they offer unparalleled expertise and passion for creating inclusive early learning environments.
You will...
- Learn how to define behavior support through an inclusive and developmental lens
- Explore what stress and dysregulation look like in young children and the adult strategies for co-regulation and calming the storm
- Understand why external control leads to short-term gains but long-term setbacks and why we focus on skill-building
We will dig into real-life challenges and connect to gentle, effective ways to prevent and respond to common behaviors that challenge early childhood teams, using student-centered language that addresses root causes rather than just surface-level behaviors.
The ECSE Community of Practice Dashboard has resources that are used in each of the sessions. The password is: inclusion
