It is essential for the State of Colorado to provide accessible digital products for our internal employees, as well as the broader Colorado public. This course is designed with the goal of delivering tips for writing meaningful alternative text. Throughout this course we will discuss the purpose of alternative text, when and how to use it, and best practices for writing meaningful and effective alternative text. 

By the end of this course, you will: 

  • Understand the purpose of alternative text. 

  • Understand how to write meaningful and descriptive alternative text for images displaying content. 

  • Understand how to effectively utilize alternative text to create accessible experiences. 

This course should take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

The final exam must be completed with a minimum score of 80% in order to receive credit for the course.
