This online course will cover principles of early childhood mental health, common and unusual presentations of mental health needs in early childhood, and strategies that educators can use to support mental health including students with disabilities. Early childhood educators, special educators and school based mental health professionals often express the desire to better understand the mental health of their young pupils and it is essential that early childhood educators, special educators, and school based mental health professionals are supported in recognizing and providing evidence-based support for early childhood mental health including students with disabilities.

This online team-based course will present an overview of Basic Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP). The course provides a foundation for teams to understand FBAs and provides opportunity for teams to practice completion of FBAs and BIPs.

This course will start on 2/5/23 and end on 4/9/23.

This Advanced Functional Behavioral Assessment and Behavior Intervention Planning builds on the skills were taught in the 8 week online class Introduction to Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavioral Intervention Planning.  This course will start with a review of material in the introduction course and will then build skills to allow participants to be able to develop behavioral programming for student who struggle with complex and serious behaviors.
