Welcome to your library! This orientation will guide you through urgent essentials you need for this rewarding and important job.

Español for Library Folx Community of Practice provides perpetual access to 8-week program materials for current and former cohort participants. It may also serve as a forum for discussions, networking, and resource/ information-sharing related to serving Spanish-speakers in Colorado libraries and Spanish language learning and conversation practice for librarians and library staff.
This Moodle is not monitored on a daily basis. Notifications are set for updates to content but otherwise are not managed by the course administrator/ creator.
Participants are added to the course prior to entering the cohort for the 8-week program and are not disenrolled thereafter unless directly requested. Those requests and any questions/ concerns should be relayed directly to Cristy Moran, Adult Library Services Senior Consultant, at moran_c@cde.state.co.us.
Required quarterly training for institutional library staff provided by the Colorado State Library to meet American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, agency policy requirements, and professional development needs.

Training provided by the Colorado State Library for Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) staff who will serve as a Temporary Library Assistant (TLA) during library vacancies or other staff absences. Meets AR 500-02, Library Services' requirement for training for TLAs.

In this first course module, we'll learn with and from one another on collaborating with others, especially during stressfull times. . We'll explore articles and resources on this topic as well as practical "on the ground" materials and/or strategies that you are considering to supplement this. All our learning will have aspects of equity and demonstration of impact of our learning embedded into this and subsequent modules.
Our outcomes for the "Collaborating During Stressful Times" Learning Burst are:
- Gain a deeper understanding of what collaboration ingredients are;
- Develop and/or co-teach an interdisciplinary collaborative lesson
- Share our learning with our administrator and, ideally another educator(s)
- Ideate/build relationships with fellow Learning Burst colleagues
