Progressing Through the Moodle Course

The next several pages will help you to learn how to navigate the course in the online format and give you a quick preview of what to expect.

Please take a look at the example course below. Each section of the course is listed in the center of the course and also linked to in the Navigation menu on the left-hand side.

Anything highlighted in BLUE is a link to another area or a document.

Within each section, you will see links to the main content.

If you click on the Book Icon this will take you to the course content where you should go through each section. When the Content Module opens up, it will look similar to this:

You can navigate through the content by clicking on the horizontal arrows in the top or bottom right hand corner or the links in the right hand column under Table of Contents. The horizontal arrows or menu will take you through all the content in the lesson. The up arrow takes you back to the front showing links to each lesson, or as Moodle calls them, "books."

When you are on the front page of the course, you will see some checkboxes. A checkmark in a box means you have completed the requirement for that content or quiz activity. Optional activities or content do not have these completion boxes.

The three lines at the top left, next to CDE's logo, will open or hide the left menu. The arrow next to the right menu with the table of contents will also hide or expand this menu.
